"With the city of Gotham evacuated, the Dark Knight has received a carte blanche to finally deal with the Two Faced villain."

This image was created for an illustration-contest called Reinvention, for which we were to reinvent a fictional character from movies and books etc.
I started with a very simple thumbnail sketch which I enlarged and worked out, fleshing out details and lighting in later stages. All digital, all Photoshop.
The idea was to depict a less flashy, more mediaeval kind of Batman.
