I painted this image for a contest called "Covers for Rejected Books", or create an great cover for a BAD BAD book.

The basic thought was to draw something really silly, containing at least some fly-swatters. Personally I like how this turned out, but I'd really appreciate to read your thoughts on it.
The whole process, sketching, build-up and finish, was done digitally in Photoshop CS2 without refs. Done in approx. 7 hours over 3 evenings.

This image was created for an illustration-contest called Reinvention, for which we were to reinvent a fictional character from movies and books etc.
I started with a very simple thumbnail sketch which I enlarged and worked out, fleshing out details and lighting in later stages. All digital, all Photoshop.
The idea was to depict a less flashy, more mediaeval kind of Batman.
